The college workshop made applying to college the best experience it could have been. Eden and Adrienne were amazing at helping me look at all my options. This included choosing colleges that were good fits for me and then looking at all possible scholarships and programs at those schools. My college essays improved immeasurably with their help, transforming from repetitive bland answers into stories that were interesting to read. They were also kind and supportive, putting my worrying mother at ease.

I absolutely would have never been able to get all of my applications in without the aid of the College Workshop! The invaluable writing skills I acquired allowed me to show, not tell, the reader my wacky personality! These girls rock!!
- Ariel F. (cws 2009, Chapman University 2013)
Eden and Adrienne drastically improved my writing abilities. I learned a new, creative style that I can apply to not just college essays, but my classes. All of my essays turned out very well using this new skill, and there is no way I could have produced this caliber of writing on my own. They kept me organized and gave me all sorts of helpful advice through the whole process.
- Matt S. (cws 2009, Wake Forest 2013)
I would have been completely lost throughout this entire process without the College Workshop! Eden and Adrienne helped me every step of the way in completing the best applications possible, fully understanding the truths and myths about what college admission officers are looking for in a prospective student. I could not have done it without them!
- Alexandra S. (cws 2009, Drew University 2013)
Honestly I don't think I would have been able to apply to as many schools as I did with such wellthought out and put together applications without you guys. Senior year was overwhelming enough and you gave me the perfect amount of guidance for my college apps. You gave me the feedback on my writing that I needed. I had no idea what colleges were looking for in my application, but you guys did, so your input was a tremendous help. And, obviously, you are goddesses… No doubt about it
- Elisabeth Friedman (cws 2008, Bard 2012)
My college essays were amazing! The essay writing process helped not only make my college essays perfect, but helped my writing improve in general!
- Susanna Creed (cws 2007, Towson University 2011)
They make the whole process easy and fun. It's nice to have a set schedule for the work it takes to make the deadlines. I got into every college I applied to and needed several essays. Eden and Adrienne had great ideas to help edit my essays.
- Beau Burrows (cws 2007, University of Denver 2011)
To put it quite simply, I am not sure what I would have done without the aid of Eden and Adrienne during my college application process. With the College Workshop, the entire ordeal is turned from a panicky nightmare into a painless and exciting experience with fantastic results. Not only was I able to develop an absolutely dynamite resume and outstanding essays, but also my self-confidence shot through the roof. Despite handling several young people at once, Eden and Adrienne made me feel as if I were their only concern, that my acceptance into a college of my choice was the only thing that mattered. Given the opportunity to do it all over again I wouldn’t walk to sign up, I would run. Do yourself a favor and use the College Workshop, I guarantee you won’t regret it!

The College Workshop eased my stress in applying to college and dental school and made me a more competitive applicant!

I applied to college during the most difficult period of my life, and I could not have done it without Adrienne and Eden. They provided me with the support, encouragement, and kick in the butt (figuratively of course) to write an incredibly meaningful personal statement. They taught me to channel my pain, passion, fears, and love into a statement that I never thought I would be able to write. I did not think it was possible to convey to an admissions representative who I was and what this defining moment in my life meant to me. I truly cherish the experience as being cathartic and such an essential step in helping to tell my own story. Eden and Adrienne were able to help me at this crucial time in my life because they are compassionate about each of their students and take the opportunity to get to know each of us. We are truly treated as individuals, and our applications and school selections reflect that.
It's like magic; somehow they know where each of us belong. After pages and pages of questions and essays - in addition to actual conversation, they got to know me so well. In conjunction with their knowledge of the universities and colleges, they managed to find the perfect school for me. Without them, I never would have gone to (or even heard of) Barnard. Because I went to Barnard, I wrote a senior thesis which I am truly proud of, I planned Relay For Life at Columbia, I had internships that led me to my current career, and I can comfortably call New York City a home. This important first step, while petrifying, has led to incredibly important experiences in my life.

What a unique and beneficial experience! The College
Workshop is one of a kind because of the fact that Adrienne and Eden
truly care for the students and want the best for each of them is so
immediately obvious. The relationships within the workshop are personal
and exceed the strictly business relationship to a sincere friendship
and mentorship. Adrienne and Eden are incredible at making the Workshoppers
think and reach deep into their creative abilities, and find things
that they did not even know were there! And they successfully combined
hard work and laughter. The time spent at The College Workshop was so
beneficial and was the reason why my college application process was
so efficient, successful and actually fun.
- Kelly Griego (cws 98, Stanford '02)
The College Workshop is a great way to get through one of the more difficult
decisions a person has to make. They are there to help throughout the
entire process, and it is comforting to know that you are working with
people going through the same thing. The Workshop recognizes the needs
of each individual student and works to meet those needs
- Willie Koslow (cws 98, Cornell University 2002)
At the end of The College Workshop my resume captured the strengths
and qualities which I wanted to convey to potential employers. The Workshop
reinforced my self-confidence as I initiated a job search out of state.
- Nicholas A.P. Foote
The College Workshop helped me not only in preparing and applying for
college, but also, in actually getting in to my schools of choice. I
wouldn't haven even applied to any of the schools I did had it not been
for The College Workshop, and I am gratefully thankful for this. Next
year I head to Boston University - I truly couldn't have done it without
them.
- Justin Hamilton (cws '98, Boston University 2002)
The College Workshop was the perfect antidote for my tendency to procrastinate.
They set clear, demanding deadlines that were sometimes tough but always
fair. Most of my friends were still writing their essays the night before
the due date, while I had mine written, rewritten, checked and re-checked
long before. The discipline of The College Workshop allowed me to be
calmly dropping my applications in the mail while my friends tore their
hair out.
- Chris Horton (cws 98, Pomona 2002)
Thanks to Adrienne and Eden, my applying to college has been the most
educational, motivating, and unique experience for me. Not only did
I learn the important ways to fill out an application, my lexicon increased
dramatically, and I also had a fun time. I never dreaded going to the
workshop, I only counted the minutes to go back. Adrienne and Eden are
brilliant mentors, and I will never forget how much I learned, or what
I learned for that matter. Thanks to them, I am living the college experience
I dreamed of.

Draft, redraft, redraft (yes, AGAIN)... "Thirteen of the most grueling
weeks if your life"... Master brag sheet... Summer personal assessment
packets... Selecting six "ideal" colleges... Activity essays... Personal
statements... Oh, yes, I remember the months fondly... College Workshop:
thirteen weeks I can honestly say were a highlight of my senior year.
My applications represented my true abilities to organize, to create,
to sell myself to the schools that I picked, the schools in which I
would succeed the furthest. Finally sending my applications in December
gave such a sense of accomplishment, pride, and confidence, a sense
that suppressed many anxious moments during the following "waiting period."
All of this, the result of my many nights spent at The College Workshop.
In addition to learning valuable writing skills and creative writing
techniques, time management and decision making skills, the camaraderie
between fellow workshoppers created an environment that stimulated deep
friendships, motivated intellectual conversation, fostered kind support
and aid, and made available an opinionated ear. Overall I credit The
College Workshop with providing the environment, the techniques, the
encouragement, and the friendships that ultimately resulted in my acceptance
to the college that is as close to perfection as I can find, a college
where my success is inevitable.
